About Us
Phillipson Street Clinic has proudly served the Wangaratta community with trusted, high-quality healthcare for over 60 years. As a longstanding, inclusive family practice, we care for patients across all stages of life, from antenatal shared care to aged and palliative care, often treating multiple generations of the same family.
Our socially conscious approach is reflected in our strong ties to local nursing homes, our collaborative work with North East Health and Wangaratta Private Hospital, and our successful Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic, which delivered over 10,000 vaccinations. This initiative not only strengthened our community bonds but also expanded the clinic’s profile and led to the continued growth of our team.
We’re an accredited training practice with MCCC, and two of our four GPs are qualified supervisors. All current GPs hold FRACGP qualifications. We also proudly support the next generation of healthcare professionals through our popular Gap Year Student Program, ideal for those interested in a future in health.
At Phillipson Street Clinic, we prioritise teamwork, professional development, and a warm, supportive workplace culture. From regular clinical education meetings to informal daily debriefs, we create opportunities to learn, grow, and collaborate.
To meet increasing demand and support the evolving needs of post-Covid care, we’re expanding our facilities, with new spaces dedicated to clinical care and medical education.

Our Doctors
Dr Michael Rutledge
Graduated from Deakin Medical School in 2014, has worked primarily in the emergency department and general practice in rural Victoria. Dr Mike offers services for all aspects of general practice, everything from childhood asthma to end of life nursing care.
Dr Patrick O’Connor
Patrick studied Medicine at St Andrews University, Scotland, and University of Manchester England, graduating in 2001. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of General Practice and is an accredited GP supervisor with MCCC. Patrick is the current Medical Director of Phillipson Street Medical Clinic. He is experienced in all areas of primary care and works in all local Aged Care facilities. Dr O’Connor is a trained GP supervisor.
Dr Tet Yuan Lee
Graduated from Monash University Melbourne in 2020 and has served in multiple health services from North Qld to Victoria. Tet offers his expertise to the broad range of ailments encompassing general practice.
Dr Shuaib Syed
Graduated from University of Health Sciences India. He offers services for all aspects of General Practice, with a special interest in dermatological conditions.
Dr Rehana Amir
Dr Rehana Amir joined PSC in 2024.
She completed her medical degree from a prestigious medical university, KMC from Pakistan in 2014 before moving to Australia.
Since then she has worked in different specialities at the tertiary hospitals in melbourne, at Monash and Northern Health.
She joined PSC in 2024 and has completed her fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP) in 2026.
She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has special interest in dermatological conditions, skin cancer treatment, chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, womens and childrens health, mental health conditions and treating adolescents and young adults.
She enjoys teaching junior medical staff and medical students.
Outside work she enjoys spending her time with her family and friends.
She also takes part in volunteer work to help women and children in need.
Dr Georgina Howard
Georgie completed the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) at the Australian National University in 2019. She started her medical career in Alice Springs as a junior doctor and subsequently moved to Sydney where she worked at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse as a medical registrar. Prior to moving to Phillipson St Clinic, she was working as a GP registrar in Alice Springs. She has a special interest in Palliative Care and has completed the Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine, and is also passionate about First Nations healthcare. In her spare time she likes to hike and go camping with her husband and dog Red.
MEDICAL STUDENT – Matthew Chu
We have medical students work with us during their 3rd year of university. For 2026, Matthew Chu is with us, he will be here from time to time, and will be working alongside all of our GPs. If you would be interested in simulating an appointment, please contact the clinic.
