Medical Practice
Phillipson Street Clinic is a family-oriented general practice, established over 35 years ago. The practice was taken over by a local practitioner in 2020 and has since undertaken renovations.
We like to give our patients the best possible care in a relaxed friendly environment.
Our clinic is in close proximity to the local hospital, as well as other allied health clinics and the local pharmacy is in walking distance.
We are a fully accredited QPA practice, and are also accredited with RACGP to have GP registrars
Children’s Health
We are here to support your most precious young family members. There are many reasons your child may need to visit a GP: viruses, skin ailments, diet and growth concerns, immunisations, fevers, infections, chronic illnesses, injuries and more. Our practitioners are skilled at handling these issues as swiftly and thoroughly as possible for the benefit of the child and caregiver. We also have a nurse immuniser on staff, who has a great rapport with kids.
Vaccination Clinic
We offer vaccines according to the Australian Immunisation Register. We also are a Qfever registered clinic, which we offer on a monthly basis.
Chronic Disease Management
Chronic Disease Management plans support patients to receive additional assistance form their GP and potentially allied health services to assist with improving the condition or enabling the patient to manage their condition more effectively.
A chronic condition is one that has been present (or is likely to be present) for more than 6 months. Examples of chronic conditions include Diabetes, Asthma, Cancer , Stroke, CVD and Dementia. This a bulk-billed service, and offers these appointments on a 3-4/year basis. We also have a Diabetes Educator and Dietitian who works on the staff on a monthly basis.
Family Clinic
We offer services for your whole family, commencing from infancy and offering services all the way to nursing home patients and palliative care patients. We service all nursing homes in Wangaratta, and offer a specialised model, to ensure all residents are visited on a regular basis.
Health Promotion / Preventative

TELEHEALTH
At PSC, we offer telehealth and videohealth services with all of our GP’s. Appointments for these are made the same as all of our other appointments, please ring 0357212167 for our next available appointment

Home Visits
Home visits are an integral part of our service. These are appropriate for patients who suffer chronic physical conditions which prevent them from attending at the surgery or are acutely unwell and unable to attend the clinic. Routinely home visits are normally only made to those in residential aged care, or those patients that are palliative.
Patients are encouraged to contact the clinic before midday, when possible, if a home visit is needed.
The decision to visit will be based on the grounds of medical urgency, as determined by the doctor or nurse.
After Hours Care Arrangements
As of the 1 January 2022, our After Hours service will come to an end.
For those patients who do need after-hours medical advice, these are the options available:
- Nurse on call 1300 60 60 24 (Free service)
- North East Health Emergency Department 35-47 Green St, Wangaratta (Free Service)
- For medical emergencies call the ambulance service on 000.
Coordination of Care
Phillipson Street Clinic encourages our clinical staff to utilise available services to achieve positive outcomes for our patients, this will include medical specialists, consultants, surgeons, allied health professionals and local council.
Patients will be made aware of the costs and charges involved in referral to another service.
When doctors give advice or treatment options, there is no obligation for the patient to comply, and the patient is free to accept or reject the advice.
Doctors at Phillipson Street Clinic will provide appropriate information and encourage patients to discuss options and therefore assist them to make their own decisions.
Our doctors encourage patients to be frank and honest in giving information about their health which will assist in best possible outcomes.
At Phillipson Street Clinic we acknowledge patients have the right to seek medical care of their choice.
Requests by a patient for the transfers of the medical records shall be promptly attended to.
A summary of clinical notes and copies of relevant specialist letters, reports and investigations may be sent to the medical practitioner of their choice.
